A stand collar, a double front closure, zip and buttons, and four flap pockets: L’EXpédition is a field jacket made for the city. Zipped up on a windy morning, buttoned over a shirt, or worn open over a T-shirt, it is the jacket you take everywhere from spring to autumn.

A little history

In 1965 the US Army adopted the M-65 field jacket: a stand collar, a zip covered by a buttoned placket and four flap pockets. Built for the field, it became a civilian classic in the 1970s, worn by Al Pacino in Serpico and Robert De Niro in Taxi Driver. L’EXpédition keeps its layout and replaces the heavy military cotton with a lighter cotton-linen weave.

The fabric

• 65% cotton, 35% linen
• Mid-weight fabric: 250 g/m²
• Cotton gives structure and limits creasing; linen adds texture and breathability
• Three colours: Argile Grey, Only White and Light Mint

The cut & details

• Stand collar with a buttoned throat tab
• Double front closure: a zip covered by a buttoned placket
• Four flap pockets: two on the chest, two on the hips
• Natural, unstructured shoulders
• Unlined, for a light jacket you can wear from spring to autumn
• Single vent at the back

Care

• Dry cleaning recommended
• Or machine wash at 30°C on a delicate cycle, spin at 400 rpm maximum
• No tumble dryer: dry on a wide hanger
• Steam or iron on a medium setting

How to wear it

• Monday: buttoned, over a white Oxford shirt and grey trousers.
• Friday: open, over a navy crewneck sweater and chinos.
• Saturday: zipped, over a white T-shirt, straight dark jeans and loafers.

Size & fit

Regular cut, true to size, with room for a light knit underneath. Sizes M to 3XL. Write to us before ordering if you are between two sizes.
