LA Safari keeps the pockets and the ease of the original bush jacket, in a soft, unstructured linen made to replace a blazer whenever a blazer feels too much. Lighter than LA Veste, it is fully unlined: the jacket for the hottest days.
A little history
The safari jacket descends from the khaki bush jackets of the British army in Africa and India — “khaki” comes from a Hindi word meaning “dust-coloured”. Ernest Hemingway made it famous on his safaris in the 1930s, and in 1968 Yves Saint Laurent turned it into a fashion icon with his “saharienne”. Since then, it has never really left the city.

- Unlined, with a light facing at the button stand only: as breathable as it gets

The cut & details
- Soft shirt collar, single-breasted button front
- Natural, unstructured shoulders
- Four patch pockets with buttoned flaps: two on the chest, two on the hips, deep enough to actually use
- Adjustable waist to define the silhouette, or wear it loose
- Single vent at the back
Care
- Dry cleaning recommended
- Or machine wash at 30°C on a delicate cycle, spin at 400 rpm maximum
- No tumble dryer: dry on a wide hanger
- Steam, or iron while slightly damp
How to wear it
- Weekend: white T-shirt, beige chinos, suede loafers.
- Smart casual: light shirt, straight trousers, waist adjusted.
- A touch of colour: Light Olive or Light Bronze over navy, with white sneakers.
