Cashmere & Wool Turtleneck
The turtleneck, the quiet alternative to a shirt.
A fine-knit turtleneck in a cashmere and wool blend, smooth to the touch and warm enough to wear next to the skin. Under a jacket it replaces a shirt and tie; on its own, it says more than a sweater.
A little history
Long worn by fishermen and sailors for its warm, closed collar, the turtleneck moved to the cafés of the Left Bank in the 1950s, where writers and artists adopted it as an alternative to the shirt and tie. In 1968, Steve McQueen wore a navy one under his tweed jacket in Bullitt, and made it a classic of menswear.
